Examination –
Special test – Anterior drawer and posterior drawer , distal
neurovascular assessment
Blood – Film , Clot, RA , Uric acid , ESR CRP , Joint
aspiration
Admit – infection , dislocation , fracture ,
Refer – severe conditions , grade 3-4 sprains
Other – supportive , pain , rice , hot-cold , compression
bandage / strapping, physic and exercises, podiatric
Sprains – Anterior talefebular , posterior talefibular ………….
Ligaments
After injury could walk or not , now , how many steps ,
swelling immediately after injury or not , PH of similar ,
X ray – if swelling , severe pain , # suspect
Management – RICE , Pain , Strapping , 1- 7 days elastic bandage , elevation ,
crutches 2 – No weight bearing for 2 days , like 1 , 3 – need repair , POP ,same
day admission , physiotherapy , rehabilitation
